Configure Brother Mfc-j497dw Printer
Brother MFC-J497DW is a wireless color inkjet All-in-One printer with mobile printing. The basic printer setup involves unboxing, loading ink cartridges, loading paper, and installing the printer software. Go through the steps given here to perform the Brother MFC-J497DW setup.
Basic Setup
Unbox the printer and take each component out of the box.
- The box contains Starter Ink Cartridges (black, yellow, cyan and magenta), Quick Setup Guide, Product Safety Guide, Brother Installation Disk, and Power Cord/Telephone Line Cord.
- Remove the protective tape and film covering the printer.
- To load paper, pull the paper tray completely out from the printer.
- Open the output paper tray cover.
- Hold and slide the paper guides to fit the paper.
- Load the paper with the printing surface face down.
- Gently adjust the paper guide. Check if the paper placed in the tray is below the maximum paper mark.
- Close the output tray cover and push the paper tray completely into the printer.
- Open the ink tank cover and remove the orange protective covering from the printer.
- Insert the black cartridge into the right side of the Brother MFC-J497DW printer and place other cartridges from right to left side of the printer as mentioned in the printer (black, yellow, cyan, and magenta).
- Connect the power cord to an AC electric socket and your Brother printer.
- Once the basic setup is complete, insert the installation disk into your computer’s CD/DVD drive or download the driver software from the Brother support website.
- Run the setup file and complete the driver installations by the following on-screen prompts.
- The Brother MFC-J497DW printer also supports wireless printing for MAC and Android devices. For Apple devices, use AirPrint, which is available on all Apple devices. For Android, download the Mopria Print Service app from Google Play Store.
- After completing the Brother MFC-J497DW setup, verify the printer functionality by printing a test page.
