HP Envy 4520 Scan Setup

1.Load original

• Raise the printer’s scanner lid.
• On the scanner glass, place a document for scanning.
• Make sure the print side of the document must face down on the glass.
• Close the printer’s scanner lid properly.

2. Scan

HP Envy 4520 scan setup, Perform one of these methods.

Method 1 - Scan To Computer

Step 1 - Enable the Scan to Computer feature

By default, the Scan to Computer feature is enabled. If you have disabled it, follow the steps.

On Windows:

• Launch the HP printer software on your Windows computer.
• Navigate to the Scan section.
• Select the Manage Scan to Computer option and click Enable.

On Mac:

• Open the HP Utility on your Mac computer.
• Go to the Scan Settings section.
• Click the Scan to Computer option and select Enable Scan to Computer.

Step 2 - Scan a Document

Now, you can scan from the printer’s control panel or from the HP printer software on your computer. To do this, perform the steps given here.

• Scan from the printer’s control panel
• Tap the Scan option on the HP Envy 4520 printer’s control panel.
• Select your computer to send your scanning document.
• Specify the scan type and tap the OK option.
• Once the HP printer scans the document, it will send the scanned document to the selected computer.
• Scan from the HP printer software on your computer

On Windows

• To open the HP printer software, double-click the printer icon.
• Now, click the Scan a Document or Photo option.
• Choose the Save as PDF or Save as JPEG.
• Note: To change the scan settings, click the More option and customize the settings as you need. If you want to make any adjustments, select the Show Viewer After Scan option.
• Select the Scan option.
• The HP Envy 4520 printer begins to scan the document according to the specified scan settings.
• Once done, the scanned document will be saved on the computer as PDF or JPEG.

On Mac

• Open the HP Scan software.
• Specify your scan profile type.
• Carry out the steps on the screen to scan on the HP Envy 4520 printer.

Method 2 - Scan using webscan

HP Envy 4520 scan setup - Using the Webscan feature, you can scan your document from a web browser.

Step 1 - Enable the Webscan feature

• To open the embedded web server page, enter the printer’s IP address in your browser’s address bar.
• Navigate to the Settings tab and go to the Security section.
• Click the Administrative Settings option and select the Webscan option.
• Click Apply followed by OK to save these settings.

Step 2 - Scan using the Webscan feature

• Access the HP printer’s embedded web server page.
• Navigate to the Scan tab.
• Click the Webscan tab in the left panel.
• Customize the HP Envy 4520 scan setup settings and click the Start Scan button to scan the HP Envy 4520 printer.
